Airless tyres?

Michelin is working on some tires that might just change the way we drive. Since they don't rely on air pressure for structural support, ride comfort and performance aren't necessarily tradeoffs anymore. You could design this as a cushy tire for bumps (vertical) but still be stiff around a corner (lateral).
