While working on honeymoon planning, I came across this story while seaching for maps of Germany.

It seems that a gigantic piece of scientific test equipment (mass spectrometer) needed to be delivered to it's new home about 250 miles away, but the logistics of the transportation required a small detour of 5580 miles...
